Earlier this month, we exhibited at Innovation Alley during EDUtech 2026, Australia's largest conference for education and EdTech providers, and announced a major project we've been excitedly working towards for almost a year: IN Short!
Last year we attended EDUtech as visitors rather than exhibitors. Our beloved former colleague, Venice, had this to say in our reflection blog from back then:
"Visiting EDUtech helped me think about not just my own professional development, but also what opportunities could Interserv jump into... what could we do in a future EDUtech exhibition? Is that something on the horizon? Time will tell..."
This year, we were lucky enough to put those first view inklings of a vision into genuine, concrete reality. We're proud to have exhibited at EDUtech 2026, where we announced our new learning platform: IN Short!
We'll detail it here much more formally soon, but IN Short is our big new project: a microlearning platform featuring interactive short-form video content that makes knowledge easier to deliver and retain. It's inspired by platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, but is specifically designed for learning, including custom features such as formative quizzes and compliance acknowledgement. Unlike other platforms that compete for your time, we want IN Short to respect it; providing you only what you need, when you need it. If you'd like more details, you can find them here!

We went into EDUtech 2026 very excited and just a little nervous; IN Short is in relative infancy, and we had committed to the conference before our MVP was even ready! Newly-developed app in hand, we arrived at Innovation Alley with one primary goal: to get feedback from some awesome people.

Our experience at EDUtech delivered exactly that, in spades. We couldn't be more grateful for our experience there. It was really great to meet everyone! We got to speak with educators and EdTech enthusiasts hailing from all over the country, each with a unique perspective stemming from their personal experiences and values.
Similarly, the feedback that we received was incredibly diverse and helpful in giving us ideas for our future direction. One thing particularly stood out though: it was genuinely humbling to hear "you guys are really onto something" often, and we truly can't thank you enough for hearing out our vision and seeing something with potential.
You particularly liked how the IN Short platform gives the organisation control over both content and distribution. Users understand that the videos they're watching come directly from a verified source and have been designated specifically for them, resulting in quality assurance and security. Since many educators at EDUtech come from the K-12 space, a lot of the feedback revolved around how these features are particularly relevant for schoolkids, especially involving safety and privacy concerns around social media and how IN Short provides a direct solution for these issues.
Part of what made EDUtech so enjoyable was the company we shared. All the other exhibitors we met were really friendly and passionate, and so many of the exhibits were inspiring. In particular, I want to highlight our lovely neighbours at Interschool Puzzle Club, who've organised something really heartwarming and valuable, motivating kids to grow and find their own space while encouraging collaboration in an inclusive environment. We also want to shout-out Typed By Hand; awesome guys building something really necessary and human to counteract the burgeoning issue of AI plagiarism being mistakenly detected in work from honest students.
I think that was the core takeaway from our time at EDUtech: everyone – both visitors and exhibitors – was keenly focused on how they could sincerely help students. User-focused development is near and dear to us at Interserv, so this resonated heavily.
To everyone we met there: a huge thank you for making our experience so memorable. If we haven't already, we'll get in contact with you soon! And for those just passing by, we'd sincerely love to hear from you!
